Cutline Speaks

Bye, Bye Cosmopolitan coasters!

posted by The Cutline Team on August 7, 2008

Everyone has a secret obsession, and many people have more than one. I am definitely one of those many. One of my many secret obsessions is chick and gossip magazines. Yes, I said it. It feels good to be able to say that out loud and proud.

In the past, I've always subscribed to these magazines, which can not only get costly, but also fill your coffee tables and nightstands with stacks of clutter. Seeing as how I have subscriptions to Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Real Simple, Shape, Fitness and Body & Soul, and all of these publications come to me on a monthly basis, the majority of my flat-surfaced furniture can no longer be seen.

Enter Zinio. I came across this great Web site just a few days ago and am so excited about partaking in my secret obsession of chick and gossip magazines through it. Zinio allows consumers in any geographic location to search for, purchase, and immediately access digital magazines of their choice. Which means no more having to wait weeks to indulge in the newest fashions, fitness tips and recipe ideas. Yes! It's also quite a money saver for someone with a subscription fetish like me. My old Cosmo subscription cost me $18 a year while my new Cosmo subscription with Zinio will only cost me $12. I'll be saving a lot of trees too, so that makes me feel good. Now, I'll only print out what I really like and need from my new digital magazines.

I've found every one of my highly desired publications on Zinio and, from the looks of it, they've got an extremely extensive list of magazines to choose from spanning men's interest, teen-focused and even international. Zinio has also converted tons of print books to digital and interactive versions, but I haven't ventured into that realm yet.

Zinio delivers over 20 million issues annually for over 3.5 million readers all around the world, now including me. Soon, I won't be able to use all my magazines as coasters anymore, but at least my secret obsession will be safe inside my computer rather than strewn all around my apartment.
