Control Your Online Presence
posted by Meghan on July 23, 2008
Let's face it, we've gone past the point of managing one or two instant messaging accounts and now are faced with managing our online reputations and presence. Between connecting with friends and colleagues over Twitter, blogs, photo buckets, social networks and the variety of chat options available, we have a lot of chances to create an online presence - we also have a lot of distractions. One small change I've recently made was to my Google Chat presence. I need chat for work, but the constant interruptions from friends on my list gets distracting. Going invisible is too drastic, since I still need to be "available". Well, gAlwaysIdle has the solution. Download the software and you can choose to be idle at all times or available at all times. I'm addicted to putting my status as idle from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. every day. It helps manage the incoming pings! Try it out and see how much time you've saved!
