Cutline cRaves: May 2, 2008

posted by The Cutline Team on May 2, 2008

It's Friday and we're back with more destinations, activities, and fun stuff to do in our latest edition of Cutline cRaves. Check it out after the jump!

* For some reason, I always find myself hanging out in the Richmond District, and so as Cinco de Mayo approaches, I may head over to Tommy's Mexican Restaurant (not be confused with another city favorite, Tommy's Joynt) for a carne asada platter and their famous margaritas to celebrate. - Christian

* I've heard a lot of great things about "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," so I'm going to check that out this weekend. Also, in celebration of Cinco de Mayo, I'm going to break out the juice press and limes to make some fresh margaritas. - Dan

* This weekend I plan on attending more films showing at the San Francisco International Film Festival. I saw Medicine for Melancholy and I was blown away by the "realness" of the film. The film captures the both the good and the bad about living in San Francisco and trying to form relationships. Next on the list, Note By Chance. - Mel

* I just came back from a trip to Ireland, where I had a pint at the "smallest pub in Dublin" While compact, it is not nearly as tiny as one of my favorite spots in the city, The Black Horse. Coming in at a whopping 7 foot x 19 foot, this pub is a great place to grab a pint and make friends with the owner, James. Cheers! - Lauren

* Who doesn't want to go to lunch and come back feeling longer and leaner? I wouldn't mind, and now I can do just that! The Daily Method recently opened up a downtown location. The bonus? It's conveniently located across the street from the Cutline office. - Morgan

* Everybody needs a little Tough Juice. Tonight, I'm heading to the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. to see if Caron Butler can pull out another one for the Washington Wizards! For those non-NBA fans out there (usually me included), we're in Game 6 of the playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Wizards could still rally from a 3-1 deficit to pull off a victory. First, they have to win tonight, and then on to Game 7. There's another white-out planned, so who knows, maybe we'll see another 36 point win! - Megan

* Let the blockbuster season begin! Lots of stuff for the nerds among us to look forward to this summer, including new installments in Christopher Nolan's Batman series, Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy series, and [gasp] Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones franchise. There's also a computer-animated Star Wars film due out in August (and it seems to crib fairly heavily from Genndy Tartakovsky's brilliant work on the Clone Wars animated shorts). This weekend my wife and I are going to catch a matinée screening of Iron Man with some friends (one of whom reviewed the film earlier this week and loved it). - Michael

Have a great weekend!
