Cutline cRaves: May 23, 2008

posted by The Cutline Team on May 23, 2008

We're back again with another culturally rich edition of Cutline cRaves! Check out our latest plans and recommendations after the jump!

* Memorial Day is almost here, which means summer isn't far behind. The quote "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco," is usually attributed to Mark Twain, but its origin is officially unknown. Still, summer guarantees chilly winds and overcast skies, so I plan on taking advantage of the beautiful weather and catching the sunset at Turtle Hill before it arrives. - Christian

* Fun with alliteration: My Memorial Day will consist of burgers, beer, and bocce ball at a Baker Beach BBQ. And if the lines aren't too long, I plan to check out the new Indiana Jones flick - go Indy! - Lauren

* I have family in town this week for my sister's graduation, which can only mean on thing...lots of dining out! Here's what we have planned so far: dinner at Scoma's, pizza at Pauline's, brunch at XYZ, and cake at Sweet Inspirations. - Mel

* After a successful Bay to Breakers, I think Memorial Day weekend is going to be mellow. Over the last few weeks I've been catching up with the Indiana Jones trilogy so I'm excited to see the fourth installment! If I find the motivation, I'm going to head up to Iron Horse Vineyards to pick up the summer Corral Club release. - Dan

* Thinking about getting a head start on all the great fairs and festivals the Bay Area has to offer every summer. I might either head north to check out the Sonoma Jazz Festival or stay local and check out Carnaval. I'll also work in the usual pedicure, which should feel especially great after 10-mile walks on Saturday and Sunday (that will hopefully help get me ready for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on July 12 and 13!). - Erin

* I found the coolest product - True Lemon! It's all-natural crystallized lemon in a little package like sugar. It's perfect to put in water or diet Coke when you don't actually have a lemon wedge. - Jennifer

* Three-day weekend! Time to recharge the batteries. I'm just getting started on a good book; I plan to burn at least a few hours on my bike; and I'm even going to work in a little education along the way. Can't wait! - Michael

* A pool party in Marin (where the sun does shine) sounds like a perfect way to spend my Saturday. I also plan to take a trip out to the Richmond District to treat my friend, Gordo, to his first-ever perfect 10 burrito. - Morgan

Have a great weekend!
