Even Umbrellas Get the Blues
posted by Erin on January 25, 2008
Here in San Francisco it's been raining pretty much non-stop for the last five days. And it's expected to continue through the weekend (which creates a great opportunity to stay inside and catch up on books and movies!). For those of you, like me, who don't remember to check the weather forecast in the morning and instead dress according to mood, this might be the perfect solution. Keep an Ambient Umbrella nearby and, when your umbrella gets the blues, you'll know it's time to stay dry. Think of it this way: for around $125, you can become your own meteorologist! The Ambient Umbrella knows when rain or snow is en route (with a little help from the folks at AccuWeather.com)... the handle will light up to indicate rain, drizzle, snow or thunderstorms. Perhaps this is an idea that's bound to end up on Pogue's wishful thinking WornOffNovelty.com, but it would certainly have helped me out on Monday when I walked out of my house with my new Dior sunglasses in hand, my rain boots nice and dry in the closet.
