Foghead 2.0

posted by Morgan on April 24, 2008

One of the many highlights of living in San Francisco is being close to Silicon Valley, the beating heart of the technology world. As a result, we see a lot of high profile technology conferences hosted in the city - MacWorld, CTIA, and the Web 2.0 Expo, just to name a few. Today, we're in the middle of the Web 2.0 Expo, and the buzz generated around the conference is much greater than previous years. My indicator? Earlier this week, I heard an interview with an Expo conference organizer on KFOG 104.5 FM, a local radio station dedicated to playing "world class rock." Their guest was not a typical one and caught my interest, so when I paid a visit to kfog.com, I was surprised to find that the site has integrated a lot of Web 2.0 technologies. The "foghead" community can now interact with KFOG on Myspace, KFOG on YouTube, and also access information easily via its RSS feed. I guess Tim O'Reilly is right: "We are in a soup of computing. Web 2.0 is all around us." So it's only fitting that the expo attracted an impressive 10,0000 attendees from 59 countries.
