Cutline Speaks
Hello 2010!
posted by Morgan on January 6, 2010
We're back, and ready to kick it into high gear into 2010.
One of my favorite times of the year in the media is when predictions for the upcoming year are published. It's always fun to see how predictions for the year match my interests and those of my Cutline colleagues. If you read my breakup letter last month, then you can imagine I was excited to see that Web TV made the short list on New York Time's Five Tech Themes for 2010. This is the extra fuel I need to push me closer to Web TV (if you're not ready but want some money-saving tips, check out this blog post).
There were a number of trend articles about augmented reality last year, so I wasn't surprised to see location-based mobile named as a top theme on the New York Time's list as well.
And, of course, there will be gadgets, gadgets, and more gadgets in 2010. Good Morning America recently had Guy Kawasaki on as a guest, and two of his top predictions were top of mind last
year for us as well: e-books and phones. We spent 2009 playing with our new Kindles and Droids and are looking forward to playing with our new Nooks and Nexus One toys too!!
I know I speak for all Cutliners when I say how excited we are to see one of our clients, Dasient, mentioned as one of the "10 start-ups to watch in 2010" in Network World. W00t!
It'll be interesting to see how these predictions will be represented in the announcements happening at CES this week!
