It’s a Techno World, Even for Kittens

charlie.jpgLast October, I adopted a kitten, Charlie. He's awesome. I've never had a kitten, or a cat for that matter, so this is all new to me. Given my obsession with all things tech, it's only fitting that Charlie would become, quite possibly, the only nerdy kitten you'll ever meet. He has his own blog (I would share the link but he hasn't posted in a while). He loves to sleep in his heated cat bed. He has an electric litter box that not only scoops his *stuff* into a receptacle but also releases some ionizers into the air to keep it fresh. And now, thanks to Amazon, he has an electric feeder that feeds him breakfast, lunch and dinner... along with a fabulous waterfall-inspired drinking fountain that circulates his water all day long.

When I was a kid, we had dogs. And I used to feed them. It was an ugly job but I loved it. Never in a million years would I have ever thought that I would (1) own a kitten, but (2) that maintenance of said kitten would be so easy. It helps, I'm sure, that I have such a cool cat. I don't know that every cat or kitten would be cool with this setup but it works for us. That, and the laser toy I bought over the weekend for playtime, makes us the perfect pair. But, alas, give the little guy a cardboard box or a paper bag and you'd think he just got the human equivalent of the Macbook Air.
