Join the Fight Against Stress - Wear Slippers to Work on Feb. 6th
posted by The Cutline Team on January 29, 2009
As a result of today's economy, a lot of businesses around the globe are feeling the pressure to cut costs and increase performance. These demands can cause great amounts of stress at work and make us unable to concentrate and be efficient. As communication professionals, we're used to juggling multiple tasks under stress while still being on the ball. We've learned at Cutline one of the key ingredients to handling stress is to keep having fun!
According to the UK's 2008 Health & Safety statistic report "over 13.5 million working days were lost to stress, anxiety and depression last year." WOW. Imagine how much pitching could have been done, plans could have been written or events could have been staffed in all that time!
That being said, I think we could learn a lot from the UK-based Samaritan’s Organization. They're encouraging employees to participate in Stress Down Day on Friday, February 6 to tackle workplace stress by wearing their slippers to work. Why not show our support from the States?? That is, as long as you don't have any client meetings that day... ;)
Let's try to lower the number inefficient work days due to stress in 2009 and wear our slippers to work! It's worth a shot, right?
