More tough news @ The San Francisco Chronicle

Local-news blog SFist reported yesterday that there's been another round of job cuts at The San Francisco Chronicle, our hometown's but struggling local newspaper. (Publisher-at-large recently Phil Bronstein recently ran an interesting mea culpa for the challenges the paper is currently facing.)

Some great reporters were let go yesterday, and we're hearing that the paper is pulling its coverage further back into San Francisco -- to the possible exclusion of Silicon Valley. Cutline is based in San Francisco, so we have a soft spot for The Chron -- and whatever happens to the paper in the future, we wish all its reporters and editors (current and former) the best.
