Cutline Speaks
On becoming a Mac guy
posted by Michael on November 16, 2009
Until recently, I'd never really entertained the idea of owning an Apple computer. I'd always been a PC guy, from a family of PC guys, most of whom looked down their noses at Macs (my little brother, a PC guy who builds his own machines, jokingly refers to the Apple line as "Fischer Price computers”).
But then the perfect storm of circumstances hit: I fell hard for the iPhone, my pricey Vista notebook started to rot from the inside out after just a couple of years, and Apple released a new line of iMacs that included a machine with a positively incandescent 27-inch display:
So, long story short, I took the plunge, preordering one of the new 27-inch iMacs with the QuadCore processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive. It shipped over the weekend, and should arrive later this week. Stay tuned to this space for first impressions, as well as a detailed account of one man's struggle to learn to live without the right-click.
