Pick a Blue, Any Blue

With the new cell phone laws scheduled to go into effect on July 1 here in California, it's time we all get serious about Bluetooth. (Note, if you'd like to know what the laws are in your state, check this site out.)
With that in mind, a couple of weeks ago I picked up a Jawbone headset and, I have to say, I'm digging it. I've asked several people what the quality is like on the other side and, with one exception, everyone has said that it sounds clear and there's no background noise. As far as fit, it conveniently comes with several ear pieces so you can customize the fit. It's not terribly uncomfortable but show me a headset that is comfy and I'll be your new best friend. Although the Jawbone is a little on the pricey side, IMHO, it's well worth the benjamin it'll set you back.
Moving right along, I've also dusted off my favorite gift from none other than one of my favorite PR super stars, our very own Megan. Last year for the holidays she left a Motorola Bluetooth portable speaker on my desk with a note that said something about me being a geek. I wasn't offended. In fact, I was impressed that she got me something that even I wasn't ready to try out. Alas, it ended up in my gadget drawer along with all the other toys that came into my life before their time (Sony Mylo Communicator, anyone?). I'm happy to report that the Moto gadget is in perfect working order and is happy to make its way to my visor. It's easy to pair, has good sound quality and definitely doesn't post a challenge when wearing other, cooler, things on your head.
Last but not least, there's one other Bluetooth toy that is about to become friends with my Jawbone and my Moto. The Bluetooth Rearview Mirror. I know nothing about this other than I saw it in SkyMall on my last trip on United and thought it was quite cool. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes. In the meantime, happy hands-free chatting.
