Recently caught futurist Paul Saffo in conversation with John Markoff at the Commonwealth Club, and have since been on a bit of a robot kick. Check out this video of a modular robot from researchers at Penn -- the modules are held together with magnets, and the robot has the ability to reassemble itself if the modules are separated.
