Cutline Speaks
Take me online at the ballgame…
posted by The Cutline Team on March 31, 2008
Being only a few blocks from AT&T Park, we at Cutline are very happy the 2008 baseball season has (finally) arrived. While many ballparks take pride in maintaining an old-fashioned experience a la Wrigley Field or Fenway Park, the San Francisco Giants were the first major league team to embrace technological change and offer wi-fi access at the ballpark. Since its introduction to AT&T Park in 2004, only Minute Maid Park in Houston has also provided online services to its visitors.
Though our national pastime and the web may not seem like a natural fit, baseball fans now have new ways to enjoy a trip to the yard. With internet access, they can post comments to sports pages or blogs, look up player stats, check out memorabilia or even be a real time sports photojournalist. Ah, baseball: a sport so deliberately slow that there's plenty of time for other business. Go Giants!
