Taking Time to Read

posted by Morgan on March 26, 2008

Do you secretly want to be a literary culture vulture, but don't have time to curl up with the classics? Well, have I found a site for you! I came across an interesting way to integrate recreational reading into your daily routine. It's a site called DailyLit.com. Here's how it works: You search the site and browse pubic domain books, books under Creative Common licenses, and limited copyright books, and after you find a book, you sign-up to receive emails or subscribe to RSS feeds, which deliver daily installments of your preferred book. For example, I picked Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. The book has 149 installments, so I chose to receive one installment every day, Monday through Friday. At this pace it will take me about 30 weeks to read the book, which may seem long, but I can always increase or decrease the frequency of my installments depending on how fast I can get through my inbox.
