Way Off Target

posted by Jennifer on February 7, 2008

Last month a blogger from ShapingYouth was rebuffed for an interview by Target’s public relations people, who said that it was company policy to "not participate with nontraditional media outlets." I’m shocked. I really think that Target is shooting themselves in the foot here (and the blogging community is in an uproar, so many other people apparently agree with me).

In this day and age, I think Target should be reaching out to influential bloggers who write about shopping, fashion, mothers, DIY, green/environmental products, consumer issues -- to name a few! It seems really behind the times for a company who has a hip, happening, and democratic (I mean all types of people democratic, not political) image to ignore a hip, happening, and democratic part of the media.
